Finally! I’ve created a private Facebook group, Plant-Based With Jenn, for anyone who wants to move towards a plant based diet/lifestyle for health and healing, The group is open to anyone who is recovering from psych med withdrawal. We will meet live, once a week. Our first meeting is Friday, August 20 at 10 AM pacific. (The regular meetings may change to Mondays.) We will be discussing foods to buy, how to cook, kitchen gadgets, recipes, gut health, detox pathways, DIY sprouting, etc., everything you need to make a smooth, easy transition to a healthier diet.
At the moment the group is free, as it is a pilot group. There will be a nominal charge for it once I’ve polished the rough edges.
If you’d like to join us, please find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/plantbasedwithjenn
If you’d like to friend me on Facebook, my profile is Jennifer Austin Leigh. If you send me a request, please message me or email me and let me know. I get a lot of requests from the plant-based community, and I may overlook your request inadvertently.
To your health and healing!
Jenn

Hi Jen I just home from 8 day detox ,feeling awful. Was on clonopin 1half mil. 4 times a day 1and half years desperate for help!
That’s a quick taper. I can understand why you feel the way you do. It will get better.
I’m here if I can be of any help.
How would one go Vegan in withdrawal as I can’t handle b12 supplements? Any advice Dr Jenn? I want to go harder with more veggies then I already eat to help my dysbiosis to clear up, but also need B12 and am so sensitive to supplements.
Excellent question. I make sure I drink 8 oz of plant based milk that is fortified with b12. I get more than my daily allowance in the brand I use— Silk, organic Unsweetened Soy. You can also find fortified cereals. I don’t recommend fortified nutritional yeast (also called Nooch) as it flares some people. (If you already take it with no problems, that’s fine). You can also try tiny tiny drops of a vegan b 12 spray. Many people can handle micro doses. Lastly, I brush my teeth with a b12 infused toothpaste. Cali White is the brand. On amazon.
Remember, we used to get b 12 in our diets from plants— before the world became so sterilized. Animals don’t make b12. They get it from the same source we used to. And even animals now need supplementing at times. A large portion of omnivores are low in B12. It’s not just a plant based diet issue.
And those things aren’t typical of revving us up or is it the whole trial and error based on how we feel I assume, which is the worst that that’s how we find out? Thanks Dr Jenn! I’m beginning to work with a benzo wise functional medicine dr but still love to do my own research and what you are studying now is exactly what I am trying to learn and work on with him. The guy and detox pathways and all. Thanks for this blog!
Nooch may be revving. And b12 supplements— even the spray— so use tiny tiny bits. The others I listed are well tolerated.
