If we’re sharing links that help on a bad day, I’ll share this chant. I swear chanting with Snatam Kaur has saved my life.

With the background music going, I did have a hard time understanding what the speaker was saying at times. Enjoyed the pictures. Thank you for the video.

I agree Bev, the words were obviously wise but so much was drowned out by the background music. It would be nice to have transcript so we could read it.
cjean, did you get the e-mail I sent about ASAM American Society of Addiction Medicine???? If you did, hope you found it helpful. For anyone looking for an addictionologist in your state – google ASAM. That is what my doctor, an Addictionologist said. Interesting info on there too.

Addictionologist is who cold turkeyed me off xanax with pheno barbitol and tegrotol. Worst day of my life. Started me on my worst years of my life pain wise.
Please dont put blind trust in an addiction dr. It was the addiction expert who runs the detox at the hospital who ct me and put me on pheno. Then he wanted me on lyrica, gabapentin etc…. he had ZERO knowledge of benzo withdrawal. In fact, he put my friend on FOUR mgs of Klonopin when she was in tolerance to 2 mgs!! I know he has put others on benzos too….. so please please please be careful. The fact is, there are very few doctors who are educated about benzos. So do your homework and be safe.
I sincerely apologise to both you Joseph and Dr. Jenn for not being more specific. My dr. is one of the first of the addictionologists. He is not a psychiatrist and never was one. He was a medical doctor and is an MD. who goes strictly by the Ashton Manual. He has returned every call I’ve made to him in the 14 months of my taper even the middle of the night at times.. He is elderly now and ready to retire. He has been meticulous with every part of my recovery and taper. His practice is entirely dedicated to recovery from all addictive drugs. I asked him for a referral because someone asked me to. He referred me to ASAM and as he did, he said to me “even some addictionologists are not practicing the correct way” or something to that effect.
Since I have not had the horrendous symptoms some of you have had to suffer, I respect my dr. And he, himself is highly respected in my community.
My intention was only to offer the website for information only – not to suggest a dr. for anyone. I meant no harm.

Sorry it was hard to understand for you. I will see if I can type the words one day. They are worth reading… it was very moving.
