Acceptance is THE KEY.

Doctor Paul Ohliger wrote the following, “And acceptance is the answer to all my problems today. When I am disturbed, it is because I find some person, place, thing, or situation-some fact of my life unacceptable to me, and can find no serenity until I accept that person, place, thing or situation as being exactly the way it is supposed to be at this moment. Nothing, absolutely nothing, happens in God’s world by mistake. Unless I accept life completely on life’s terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world, as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes.” (Alcoholics Anonymous, 4th Ed., page 417)

You’d be hard-pressed to find a better solution to achieving peace and serenity than this short quote. But how do we practice acceptance when we’ve never been taught much about it? It’s not always easy. That’s why I am hosting the Acceptance Workshop for anyone interested in learning more about this approach to life. You’ll receive coursework Monday- Friday for four weeks at my site. There you’ll find lessons and questions to ponder so that the content becomes more real and usable. You can access the coursework at your convenience. You’ll also receive 30 minutes of a live discussion with me through the Acceptance Workshop private Facebook page. Mondays through Thursdays. We will connect at 10 A.M. Pacific.  If you can’t make the discussion, no worries. They will be recorded and posted to the group so you can access when you like. The Acceptance Workshop starts on Monday, July 17.

Need more support?

It’s hard to battle your way through benzo withdrawal on your own. Oftentimes the information we receive about withdrawal, symptoms, coping, etc, is confusing. What works for someone else may not work for us. Or, we may turn to people who don’t understand withdrawal and be told erroneous information or even not believed and belittled. It’s important to have support that is positive and educates and champions you. I offer Mornings With Jenn, a live support group that meets for 45 minutes via a private Facebook group on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 A.M. Pacific. Come share your concerns and questions and learn about benzo withdrawal, a little social neuroscience (how your brain/nervous system works), and some spiritual tools to help you cope better. The Mornings With Jenn support group begins Tuesday, June 11.
