I’m so passionate about helping people heal from the damage done by benzodiazepines and antidepressants that I’ve created a Veganuary challenge. Maybe you’ve heard of Veganuary— people challenge themselves to go plant-based for the month of January.
For 31 days, beginning January 1, you’ll receive emails with links to my Kajabi classroom filled with articles, resources, videos, chefs, and tasty, easy plant-based recipes. Not feeling great? Don’t worry. You can go at your own pace and I’ll post a weekly recap every. But wait, there’s more! Join me on my Veganuary Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/groups/veganuarywithdrjenn
and you can chat with me live every Tuesday and Thursday at 9 AM Pacific during the month-long challenge. I’ll answer your questions and cheer you on!
Every member of Veganuary With Dr. Jenn receives an early-bird discount to the masterclass I’m offering this spring/summer, Overcoming Anxiety Naturally.
If you want to explore the healing power of a whole-food, plant-based diet, come join me Sign up here: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/pRt3Xpx
I hope to see you in the group.
Love this! After speaking with you switched a PBWF diet and I’m so happy I did. I’m so many ways I’m feeling and living better and after I switched my recovery stated moving much quicker! My body is much happier 🙂
Thx Jenn
Dr.jenn I just want to say thank you for caring so much for all of us going through benzo withdrawal. You are such an inspiration! I am 4 months off of xanax and the head symptoms anxiety, depression and hopelessness are relentless. The nerve pain, burning, stings, tingling are horrible but if my head was better I think I could tolerate it better. I try to distract but it’s hard and some days all I can do is read your blog to feel a connection and some hope. I know 4 months isn’t a long time but I’ve been suffering with tolerance and interdose withdrawal for almost 2 years,so it’s wearing on me. I’ve lost so much the last 2 years and just need hope for a great future. God is good and I know he has a plan, but this stinks! If you could possibly write an uplifting, encouraging message for the new year I’d really appreciate it. You write beautifully and it really helps! Thank you!
Hey Jenn…I started your challenge a month or so ago…I loved it..found a recipe for hentil soup and vegetarian chili…..started out slow, but then the histamine issues kicked in…beans and lentils, tomatoes, spinach, etc are all high in histamine. So now I’m doing the anti histamine diet for a few weeks to see if I can feel better. But I hope to return to my lentils soup soon.
What if you suffer from malnutrition and have lost so much weight and have Mast cell from being vegan? Doctors given you an option to eat keto or die? At 29 months out what do you advise? If you are sooooo passionate about helping the benzo harmed why did you go on another podcast supporting keto? So what now? What do I do?
Adrien, I am sorry to hear you are having problems. I’d work with a plant-based nutritionist or gastroenterologist who can help you sort out your malabsorption issues. A whole-food, plant-based diet is the healthiest anyone can eat, so if you are having problems, you may have underlying issues that need to be addressed. Many of the top professional athletes are going plant-based to increase their stamina and performance (watch the movie, The Game Changers). The movie, Forks Over Knives is a good documentary on the healing power of plants. I did not support a keto diet on Scott’s podcast. We were interested in discussing the gut microbiome. I wasn’t aware at the time of Scott’s strong reliance on the keto diet, so I can understand how it could be confusing that I was on his channel. I was certified in plant-based nutrition from Cornell University and my training indicates that the Keto diet is one of the most harmful. You may want to check out these links:https://nutritionfacts.org/?s=keto. or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xk_CMVy-RA. or this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-cmEqNPnHvo
Remember that doctors have 20-25 hours of nutritional study. They were the ones who we trusted and they put us on a benzo that harmed us. I’d hate to see anyone trust an uneducated doctor for their nutritional needs. Dr. B, a highly educated gastroenterologist, has excellent information: https://theplantfedgut.com
I hope your absorption issues are corrected soon. Keep healing!
