I’m way overdue for a blog post. My apologies. It’s been a busy past few weeks. I’m excited to share with you that I am extending my coaching practice to anxiety sufferers who are not on a benzodiazepine, in hopes that they will avoid going down that dangerous path. I am also going to teach other coaches, therapists, and doctors, about the dangers of benzos and how to safely taper someone off the drug and support them while they are healing. I’m working on the website and creating workshops and workbooks for anxiety sufferers.
I’ll still be coaching people going through benzo withdrawal (this site will remain) and I look forward to creating a few more workshops for the benzo community. My Mornings With Jenn support group is growing, and I am enjoying the time with the members. We focus on solutions, not on the symptoms, and it’s a joy to be able to share knowledge and tools. My goal is to not just help people get through benzo withdrawal but to also teach them how to heal their old wounds and overcome anxiety so that they don’t need to take a medication in order to navigate their lives. Please come join us if you feel you want more support. You’ll join me, live, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 AM, Pacific on the MWJ Facebook page.
In a few days, I will be off my benzo for nine years. My, how time has flown! I started tapering October 2010 and was cold turkeyed from .625 mg of Clonazepam on June 23. It was a wild and wooly ride, to say the least. But it’s all a distant memory now, one that doesn’t disturb me in the least. Life is so rich and full and wonderful, that I don’t look back. It is going to be rich and full and wonderful for you too, in time. We heal, really, we do.
I look forward to helping more people, hopefully keeping some off a benzo. With the world a chaotic place with Covid-19 and social unrest, it’s worrisome to think that more people will go on a benzo to cope with their anxiety. I don’t want anyone else to go through what I went through, and what you are going through.
I’ll be back soon to share some tips, tools, and ideas about benzo withdrawal. Until then, please take good care of yourselves. Stay safe.
