I’ve always been an over-achiever.
Maybe it’s just my DNA—the drive to push, push, push to get things done. Or, maybe, it’s a reaction to my childhood trauma driving me to get everything done, and done well (perfectly?) as quickly as possible. Whatever the reason, I am prone to piling a lot on my plate and juggling a dozen things at once. I *usually* manage everything, but sometimes, it’s wayyyyyyy too much. This has been one of those times.
I thought I could move, settle in, plant the garden, and help with my grandbabies
all at the same time. Nope. Didn’t work. Many of the balls that I was juggling came crashing down. Like this week’s blog post. Didn’t get written. Or the workshops I was supposed to start on the first. Didn’t even post a sign-up. I overestimated how quickly I was going to settle in and find my groove so to speak. But, the good news is that I didn’t push myself into a wave (my nervous system seems to be growing stronger and stronger and stronger). And, my apartment and garden are now 98% done. I can take my foot off the gas pedal and relax a bit.
I can focus on work again without any major distractions.
It feels good to have the chaos and confusion of the move behind me. I can look forward to being more available for coaching and leading workshops. Speaking of workshops, The Sacred Relationship workshop is going to start Monday, May 13 at 9 am Pacific. I will be on Mondays and Wednesday mornings for a month (or more?). I don’t know if we need that much time, it may end earlier, but I want to give us plenty of room and time to cover all the slides. I haven’t taught this in a group setting, so there will be a learning curve as to how much time it takes. Each session will be about an hour.
The workshop covers the science of social safety (polyvagal theory) and Universal Consciousness (Christ consciousness) so that you have a better understanding of how your brain/nervous system works and the healing power of love. If you’ve taken my Healing WIth Love workshop, you’ve been introduced to some of the concepts, but we will do a deeper dive.
You’ll need these things to participate.
If you are still highly symptomatic, I’d recommend waiting until you are more healed to join the workshop. (I’ll be offering it again, so no worries.) You will want to be well enough to follow along, able to do some journaling and homework, and able to join us on your phone, Ipad, laptop or computer via a Zoom link I’ll send you. You can turn off your camera if you don’t want to be seen by the group.
The workshop won’t be a place to share benzo withdrawal symptoms. We will focus on the content of the workshop. Of course, if anything relates to withdrawal, I will point it out for the group. Your homework may involve you pondering your healing, but we won’t be sharing symptoms in the group. It is not a support group.

So many have emailed me about Mornings With Jenn that I have decided to offer it again. It will be on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. 9 am Pacific. I’ll be creating a new closed Facebook group for the new group, so if you were in the old one, those videos will still be available for you.
