Benzo-Informed Doctors

The majority of medical professionals are uneducated about benzodiazepines. Please be careful when working with someone who is not benzo informed.
It is a good idea to use caution even when working with someone who claims to be benzo-informed, as some doctors will still prescribe medications that we know in the benzo community to be contraindicated.
Drugs such as Gabapentin, Seroquel, Remeron, Trazodone, other antidepressants, antipsychotics, and “mood stabilizers” should be taken only if you have researched how these drugs may impact your recovery or their withdrawal syndromes. Ultimately it is your decision to take another medication.
The best list of medical professionals who are benzo-informed is found on the Benzodiazepine Information Coalition website. The button below will take you there.
