“So when they had dined, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, love you me more than these? He said to him, Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. He said to him, Feed my lambs.” (John 21:15)

Throughout your life, you’ll be asked important questions: “Where were you born?” “What’s your mother’s maiden name?” “Your social security number?” “Do you take him or her to be your lawfully wedded spouse?” But there will never be a more important question that the one Christ asks you, “Do you love me?” Our eternal fates rest upon the one word with which we reply.

In our world of social media and glitz and glamour, it isn’t important how much you own, or how much you stand out from the crowd, or how many followers you have on Twitter or Facebook. What is important is “Do you love Jesus?” If you do, then you have the ability to touch other hearts and to lead them back to God’s marvellous love. If you love Jesus, then you have a heart full of love, able to both give and receive.  You can remind others that any time they feel fear, anger or worry, their egos are crowding out God, for God is only love. When we turn to Jesus, with His Sacred Heart, and say, “Yes, I love you,” we open our lives up to His glory and we secure our eternal resting place with Him.
