“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”  (Colossians 2:6-7)

The morning sun peeked over the horizon casting a slow warmth across the garden. The finches were still sleeping in the trees. The butterflies and bees were not yet awake. The silence was profound. I sat at the small table in the garden and marveled at the beauty around me. The freshness of the day was filled with promise. Anything felt possible.

I prayed “Father, what do you want me to do for you today?” He whispered to me, “Tell them I love them. More than they will ever know. Tell them I want for them to be whole and healthy. I want for them to let go of their anger and fear and let my love fill them so that every day they know hope and peace. I am all they need, yet they still turn away from me. Tell them I long for them to turn to me.”

“I’ll tell them,” I replied. “Anything else?”

“Yes.” He said.” “Tell them that recovery doesn’t end with just acknowledging me. They must continually walk with me and be strengthened by me, and be happy that I hold them close to me.”

A lone finch warbled a soft, sweet song, high above. A breeze rustled through the dried magnolia leaves scattered on the sidewalk. The neighborhood began to wake up. “I’ll tell them, God. I’ll tell them.”

And so I have, with these words here. God wants you to know He loves you. He wants you to have a relationship with Him. He wants to walk beside you, every day. He wants you to enjoy the gifts He gives you. He wants you to love Him, for he loves you, so much.
